Chiropractic Techniques our team use

At Unlock Health we use a number of highly-effective adjusting approaches to help reduce nervous system interference and improve spinal biomechanics. This approach is individually tailored to you as an individual where our highly qualified chiropractors rely on their expert clinical judgment and years of experience.

If you’ve been to a chiropractor before and prefer to be adjusted in a particular way, let us know. Our team provides the highest quality of chiropractic care and are able to perform a range of adjusting techniques. Just let us know, we want you to relax and receive the best possible results from your chiropractic care.

SOT

Sacro Occipital Technique helps restore the relationship between the pelvis and the head, using gravity to gently correct the spine and nerves. This technique uses small wedges or blocks that are placed under the pelvis in different areas to restore the nervous system and spinal fluid health.

Activator Methods

The Activator otherwise known as ‘The clicker’ is a small handheld device that performs a gentle adjustment to areas of the spine and nerves. Chiropractors that utilise this technique often check the lengths of legs and make multiple small clicks, great for people with osteoporosis, kids and if you are someone who doesn’t like pops or crunches in the spine

Diversified

After identifying which vertebrae have lost their normal motion or position, a specific manual thrust is applied to free up “stuck” spinal joints. This is what most consider the typical pops and clicks that most chiropractors perform.

Thompson

Thompson Terminal Point technique is a system of analysis and a special table that reduces the amount of energy needed to adjust your spine. You may have experienced this if you’ve been on a table that lifts up and then drops down with a Chiropractor’s hands on an area of the spine. Great for correcting any twist or tilt in the hips and pelvis, often the legs are checked for length both straight and with bending the knees as well.

Gonstead

This full spine approach relies on x-rays and a temperature scope that runs down the spine for a thorough evaluation and documented results. It identifies the primary areas of chronic load on your spine to accurately evaluate the most important nerves to remove interference.

Chiropractic BioPhysics

Chiropractic BioPhysics (CBP) utilises x-ray and postural analysis to develop a series of specific adjustments, exercises and interventions with the focus on the structural restoration of the spine and posture over time. It emphasises the importance of optimal postural curves and spinal alignment in relation to health and wellbeing. These specific adjusting techniques use a table that drops gently, and a hand held adjusting tool, in combination with bands and blocks to stretch the spine.

Toggle Recoil

A Toggle Recoil adjustment is performed only on the bones and nerves at the very top of your neck. This gentle technique is done with a special table the clicks down while laying on your side. Your body does the rest. This area has more receptors and nerve fibers than most other parts of the body, as almost all information from the brain to the body passes through this highway of information in your spine. Great for people suffering with headaches or pain that shoots to different areas of the body.

Logan Basic

Logan Basic Technique relies on applying a light contact to the tailbone, relaxing the muscles here to allow the “foundation of your spine” to support your body properly. We know that a house needs a stable base and foundation, this form of adjustment works on restoring the cornerstone of the pelvis and foundation of the spine.
